Created between Buthier and Epinel, in Gran Paradiso National Park, the path of Les Fontaines Pond stretches about 3.7 km along the forest track that runs alongside the Grand Eyvia River. It is a marked route that is both educational and informative and easily accessible and walkable at different times of the year.
A walk along the route will introduce you to two very different habitats: the pseudo-steppe, thick with species of plants that are very rare in the Alps and a wetland, called Les Fontaines, where the wild plants grow naturally, in contrast to the crops of the surrounding agricultural landscape.
